basement window sills

Hi,
I'm finishing my basement and I'm at the part where I need to build a window jam or sill. There are 3 casement windows and I'm using 1x4's, 1x6's,2x8's and 2x10's. What type of lumber should I buy?

Thanks
JT

JT,

Nothing fancy needed here, just need to determine what dpeth of lumber needed. You'll have to determine the end finish and go from there. Sills versus rough opening frame is different so don't know why you would be asking. Windows have their own jamb and you need to install this in a rough opening. Jamb extensions can be made from 1x stock..again the dimensions are going to be your choice - normally done in pine.

Good Luck!
