Crack repair cost?

I have not had the actual estimation, but I called a company locally and got a ball bark figure.

I have a crack in the foundation wall which I disovered while doing some work on the basement. It appears to be the whole height of the wall...7ft or so, but I can't tell for sure because there is drywall on the wall.

This place told me to repair this it would cost me about $450 and they use an epoxy that will last forever. The waranty even carries over to the next people who own my home. They also told me that the walll has to be cleaned and clear of any other repairs which it is not. That will be extra.

Does this sound resonable? Any thoughts?

jrizzo17,

If they are using the injection method, this seem about right. Get a couple of more bids, on-site reivew to confirm if it's appropriate. The method does work great.

Good Luck!

Can I buy the kit and do it myself? Is this something that someone that is fairly handy can do?

The place I called raised the estimate to $590 because they have to clean the crack out because the previous owners tried to patch it with concrete. Is this going to be harder to seal correctly now because of the previous patch job?

The kit is about $80 and it comes with everything you need and uses a regular caulking gun to dispense the epoxy.

What do you think?

Thanks again,
John
