Height of basement outlet

Hi guys,
I'm finishing my basement and about to put in the electrical outlets but this guy told me that I have to put the outlet at least 4 feet above the concrete floor because it is in basement. The builder didn't do that, they put some in at about 1.5 feet above the floor. What should I do? I know that we have to meet the duilding code otherwise the inspector will reject it.

I live in lincoln, NE. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In most areas, and according to the National Electrical Code, there is no minimum height. If you live in a flood plain, your city may have stricter codes. A two-minute phone call to the bulding department will identify any applicable local codes.

Since the builder put them 1.5' off the floor, I really doubt if what "this guy" told you is correct. "This guy" is famous for very bad advice.

Thanks, John. I'll make phone call to the city building department.

About "this guy", I think the same way. He is probably good at bad advice.
