Extendinng eaves

My eaves overhang by about 9". I would like them to extend 24"-26", but not sure how to do it. Would I just scab on to the truss somehow? Also, how do you extend the gable side of the roof (I'm not sure that is what you call the end of the roof)? Any help would be greatly appriciated. I read the other extended eaves question, but I don't want to support the eaves from the ground.

overhang

You can like scab on a 2x4 on the side of the tails that you have now and go back to the wall with another 2x4. Think like you lay down a V. Id run a 2x4 along the building where the bottom 2x would hit the building. See this would let you box in the over hang. Dont forget to put lots of vent in it. The solar book say the over hang should be as far out as the LATo you live on. ED
