Basement final inspection
Hi-
I'm finishing my basement, and my village requires 2 inspections: a rough electrical/plumbing inspection and a final inspection when the project is completely finished.
I passed the rough inspection, but what are the inspectors looking for in the final inspection? If the construction passed the rough, what typically causes problems with the final inspection?
Thanks for your time in advance,
Steve

Electrical: They are looking to see if you correctly connected the receptacles and switches, having the correct polarity and grounding. They make sure you have GFCI in unfinished areas and bathrooms. They make sure lighting fixtures in closets meet the clearance requirements. They make sure that areas with equipment has lights. They will test your smoke detectors and make sure they work, are properly located, and properly interconnected.
Mechanical: They will make sure your combustion air ducts are sufficient and correctly located.
I'm sure other stuff too, but I'm less familiar with what they look for in plumbing and structural. They will make sure you used fire-rated drywall under the stairs. They'll make sure you haven't obstructed any egress paths or violated clearance requirements around the furnace, hot water heater, or electrical panels.
