leaky basement

Ok I have a cinder block foundation that leaks when it rains. The major problem is I have a concrete patio butting up to the foundation the entire length of the house. There is a small (less than 1/2 inch) gap between the patio and foundation. I assume the water is getting in through this gap. What can I do to fix it. I keep the gutters clean and run the downspouts around the corner but still get water. Thanks.

You need to slope that patio away from the house. Depending on your situation, you might be able to mudjack it, or you might need to tear it out and repour. Or maybe you could cover the patio. If the patio is already sloped away from your house, then that little gap is not the source of your problem.
