Asbestos Pipe Wrap

Asbestos Pipe Wrap
I am using foil and foam duct insulation to "encapsulate" what I was told was asbestos pipe wrap in my basement. It is working well but I am a bit concerned that I might be causing the fibers to become airbone because there are are seams between the sections that rubbed together ever so slightly (literally, maybe twice)while I was wrapping a section. It's not like I saw any particals fall or anything but after reading about "friable" asbestos I'm a little spooked. My guess is that you'll advise that only a professional should be doing this but any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Just reminder that I'm going about this very very gently.
P.S.The end of the wrap looks like corrugated "hive-like" cardboard and I'm confused about where the asbestos actually is.

Hello: maxfixer
Although your question has merit, we cannot ask our professionals to provide information on asbestos, which is a hazardous material for the do it yourself person to attempt to deal with.
As suggested, it is best to hire a licensed and highly qualified professional company to both inspect and determine if the material is asbestos and remove this material if it is asbestos.
Many local and state rules apply to the proper removal, handling and disposal of asbestos.
Improperly dealt with asbestos subjects yourself to hazards to which you should not be subjected to and fines imposed by local government agencies to which you may not be aware of.
As advised, it is is your own best interests to hire a professional company that specializes in the handling of this material.
