Question Plastic drainage board needed?

I recently got a couple estimates from waterproofing companies. They were basically the same. The last estimate was the least expensive. They would install 4" PVC.Backfill w/crushed
stone, recement floor leaving l/2" groove. They will drain the cinder block at base and also install a drain grate at back entrance. The other companies were more expensive but all used some type of plastic drainage board againist wall and across footer. I asked
why his company didn't use the board and he said he didn't like to use the board because they sometimes gets clogged.Seems to make sense to me but if I was so smart I wouldn't be asking your opinion.Should I pay the extra money and go with a company that uses the drain board.Of couse each company states that their system is the best?I would appreciate your help.Thanks.

Hi Pat,

First off, get one more bid, second, ask these guys for previous customer references, best if the jobs are at least a couple of yrs back, then call or visit them & find out how they're satisfied with the job, their place still dry? Good luck
