removing lolly columns in garage

I am working on getting an LVL sized to replace the dimensional beam in my garage so that I can get a free span and remove the lolly columns that are ALWAYS in the way. When I am ready to remove the lollies, what is the best way to get rid of them. I believe the floor was poured after the columns were installed so I would need to cut them some how. Any suggestions?

In addition to making sure that the new beam can support the span, also make sure that the footings under each end of the beam can support the beam. It won't matter much that the beam holds up perfectly if the footings under each end of it sink into the ground.
