Question convert crawl space into a basement

I want to convert a crawl space that is under part of my house to a basement. I am having trouble locating a contractor that does this.

You do know it will be much smaller than you have there now. They have to stay in some from the old footing . ED

Hi there, we just had something like this done. It took us a while to find contractors who would do it as well. Your best bet is to look for house movers, they are the people who will best be able to lift up your house, dig a new foundation/basement and set your house back onto it. It's no small task and can take a good deal of time and money, and it will also likely damage your existing house's drywall and possibly door and window frames.

There are some things you might not think about that you'll want to ask... For example, they destroyed our existing plumbing that was in the crawlspace and we had to rush to get new installed before they poured the floor. We assumed that the house would be left in an overall working state when they were through with their work but that was not the case.

I have a great deal of pictures of the entire process if you're interested, I will post them.
