Ventilation in Attic

How do I increase the ventilation in an attic?

Boy its like what do you have ????? There are vents you can get and cut into the overhang of the home. then there are button vent that you can cut in to the roof up there by the ridge.There also are gable vent that can go it the gable end of the home . There are vent fans on a tstat that work good for this . So like I said what do you have and what can you do with it.
You should have about 1 sq ft vent for every 150sq ft of attic. With half in and half out. ED

Roof is just a covering

IMHO a roof is just a covering to stop the insulation from getting wet.
Ventilate as much as practically possible.
1" of venting per sq ft of attic is a good rule of thumb, this is equal to 1/144 which is just a hair more than the 1/150 code suggests.
