Cement Floor
For those of you that have either finished or are in the process f finishing, what did you do about the concrete floor? Did you just put carpeting on top of the concreate? Did you put a subfloor in?

Its more in what do you want to do. You could just paint. Or how dry is the floor all the time . Put a 2'X2' piece of poly down on the floor and tape it down see if it get wet at all under it. that should tell you how to go.

Depends what you want and how moist it is. I trusted our moisture factor enough to do a regular padded carpet--we bought pretty good stuff. If you don't trust it, go with tile or vinyl. There's some really good looking vinyl that looks like wood, etc.
There's a tradeoff:
Tile-coldest/hardest/best bet for moisture
vinyl
Carpet (glue down)
Carpet (padded) softest/warmest/worst case scenario in a flood!

Thanks for the suggestions. I spoke with my building inspector today, and he mentioned that I if I am putting carpet with padding I should be fine. I initially thought I should put 1/2 in plywood then the carpet, but he stated that I didn't need to do that, the padding would take make up for the hardness of the cement floor.
