Question Removing sprayed insulatin from soffit vents

I just recently purchased my first house and the home inspectors told me that the soffit vents in the attic were covered by insulation, which could result in poor ventilation.

How can I remove the sprayed insulation from the soffit vents? Can I just use my hands and pull the insulation up from the soffits? How do I prevent insulation from falling back on top of the soffit vents? Do I need to purchase rafter vents / baffles?

Also, the attic does not have floor boards, how do I navigate through the attic without falling through the ceiling?

Thanks for your help!!

Yes get the insulation off of the vents in the over hang.Id do that last. After you put up the foam rafter vents so air can get up into the attic. Then clean them out from out side.
get 2 are 3 pieces of ply wood say 2'X4' 3/8" and just move them around up there while you work.
