It has to be the pull switch b/c it clicks on and off every 10 minutes now. The motor is really hot. I can't figure out how to get the part where the pull chain connects to and the 3 wires (2 black and 1 red) also comes out of connecting to the motor off.
I'm thinking the problem has to be somewhere in there b/c I pull the pully chain (on off switch) and it doesnt stop the noise that happens (like it is trying to start).
Also- it is not belt driven. The motor shaft is not turning at all. I oiled it up a little bit too and it still doesnt turn.
Thanks for any help

chadl,
Safety first - cut power to this fan.
As we cannot help over such an issue, as obviously something is very wrong and you may not have the tools or skills to repair it, hire an electrician.
I'd hate to think that your home burnt down because you were trying to just save some money.
Good Luck!
