Question Attic insulation covers the soffit vents, how much will a contractor charge to fix?

I am purchasing a home that has the attic insulation covering the soffit vents. Instead of doing it myself, how much can I expect a contractor to charge to go in the attic and move the insulation to allow air circulation?

johnny0123,

You guess is as good as mine. I would get some quotes - it might be by the hour - so get some hourly quotes.

Good Luck!

vents

Greetings,

Depending on the amount of head room with EASY access it shouild cost abouit $1.25 / opening. All they're goig to do is take a stick and reac over and move the insulation. On a job like this it there is a lot of movement and the possibility of a shoe thru the ceil'g. Make sure the contractor has insurance. Also make sure they wear an approve face mask, not one of those $.15 ea varities. We don't want him coming back later claiming health problems from the insulation. In fact it would be prudent to have him sign a libility release holding you not accountable.
