Selling - need help with water problem
I have an underground basement. Was told I have a poured foundation. When you walk out the door you go up steps and out bilco doors to the outside. In that step area in heavy rain seasons the floor is damp. Getting ready to put the house on the market next week. Thoroughly cleaned area with bleach etc and last night it rained and I saw water trickling in where wall meets floor!!!! I can't believe it.
I am a widow by myself so I can't do grading etc. The bilco doors are ground level and there really is nowhere to put any dirt. I did notice outside today that the water is in puddles around the slab that the bilco doors are built on.
What can I do...Is there a concrete plug I can put around the bottom of the walls...I am so discouarged. Any advice would be appreciated?
Thanks, Barb

Barb,
Problem is that someone failed to provide proper drainage for the Bilco door system. One methond may be Hydraulic Epoxy Cement via Injection. My concern is that if this is done, where will the water try to infiltrate into the home? This may help but you'll have to see what they will charge.
Good Luck!
