Basement walls bowing

Two walls of the basement of our 60-year old house are bowing inward slightly. There is evidence of prior cracking that has been sealed, and there is no problem with leakage at this point. Our home inspector suggested bracing the walls with I-beams to keep them from bowing inward anymore, and we would really like to take care of it ourselves before the ground freezes this winter and possibly makes the situation worse. Any suggestions on this method or any other options?

I had something similar in my last house, except the basement was also damp. A company came in and installed I beams and an internal tile system. It worked really well. I think it was a good idea to do the 2 things together since they needed to bust up the concrete to install either the i-beams or the tile.
