4x8 sheets of Beadboard on ceiling

I am finishing a basement and am going to use the 4x8 sheets of beadboad ( Plybead?) on the ceiling . This is normally used on porch ceilings . Does anyone have experince using this material . I am mostly interested in what was used for attaching to the studs . I was planning on using a air finish nailer I borrowed from a friend . After seeing the head size on the nail I am worried about it not staying in place .
How level do the think it needs to be so not to be noticed ?

Pederson13,

A finish nailer works great! If you look a this link and go to pictures 28 and 29, it was done to the ceiling of the dining room. For this home, that I designed, it was a way to make it seem more "country". It isn't coming down!

With your application of this in the basement, you may want to consider and you probably have already, plastic access panels that are available at HD or Lowes to allow access to any junction boxes, shut off valves, etc.

Hope this helps!

Link did not get me to those specific picture ( ones I saw were nice work ) .
Thanks for the reply that the finish nailer works . I am going to use it this Sat. I will post how it worked out . What nailed did you use ? I have a Bostitch straight 16 ga. nailer and going to use 1-1/2" long nails .

then

go to pictures 28 and 29

It should work but you'll like the application on your ceiling.

Good Luck!
