Unhappy cold air returnin basement-good idea?

Hi . I just finished my basement and I realize its too dry down there. There`s also a lot of static. I think the problem is there are 2 hot air vents and no cold air return. I can put a cold air return but somebody told me its not a good idea because of possible radon being circulated in the whole house. Is that true ?
Thank youundefined

Anywhere where you have supply air, you have to have cold air return.

First off here sounds like you dont have a humidifier on the furnace . If not you sure need one.
You dont say how big the room is down there but 2 outlets sound light for a basement. Yes cut a 6"X14" return grill in the cold air drop will help .Now not in a sealed up room with just the furnace .Make sure the air from it goes through the filter .
