Finishing a basement

I'm looking for expert advice on the subfloor. My basement is unfinished. I've done some tests and I don't appear to have any moisture problems. I was looking at using Delta FL with either T&G or OSB as the subfloor(eventually carpeted). I don't like the idea of a moldy carpet so I think I really want a subfloor. Opinons on this approach? Will it last? Is it spongy? Are there better approaches, I need to save as much headroom as possible and looking at the most cost effective approach. Another question is the order the work should be done? Do you do the subfloor before the perimeter and interior walls and fasten the baseplates to the subfloor and to the concrete?? Or do you put up the perimeter walls and interior walls and then put the subfloor inbetween? I'm getting conflicting advice on the order, just looking for some clarification. Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks

After much consideration and reading many posts I have decided to take the advice of the moderators. I plan to stud up 2x4 walls and insulate with fiberglass. Now that I have made my decision I have another question. It pertains to my radiant heat in my cement floor. It is my understanding that I should set my studded walls 1" from the cement wall. The vapor barrier and insulation keep the warm (humid) air from reaching the cold cement wall. Here's the question: If the entire cement floor warms up and essentials acts like a big radiator, will the warm air get up behind my insulated wall anyway? I think the tubing is run quite close to the exterior cement walls. Can someone please answer this quick, I am sending my EPS back and have studs and insulation coming tomorrow. They will strangle me if I don't make up my mind. :wall:
