Question Additional Attac Fans, Removal of one?

Ok, need some advice here...
New Jersey Home, Ranch, 1100sq'
Attic Ventalation is limited, im going to add soffit vents, for now theres air coming in from the garage opening into the attic... (and thats about it!)

I had a new roof put on and a large electric attic fan installed in the roof facing upwards.

The old attic fan sits on the side of the house, infront of a small vent.

Should i leave BOTH fans running, in this case both sucking air out?
should i reverse the little one on the side of the house to pull air IN?
Or remove the side vent fan just leaving the louvers open?

Thanks for the help guys,
Kevin

Wink

Or remove the side vent fan just leaving the louvers open?
Id let the new fan in the roof pull the air in from there and open this up with a grill that will fit it.

Garage opening

The opening you mentioned from the garage into your house attic is a

breach of the firewall required between the garage and the house.

There should be a 5/8'' drywall ceiling in the garage or a similar covering

over the garage side of the common wall, from the floor slab to the roof

boards.

this thread was not started because i questioned whether or not my home met local code specs for firewall barriers and safety. The opening im speaking of is a large access door. thank you however for the above help.

excuse me

I always assume that people may want to know if some safety issue puts

their family at risk. I don't get paid for this, maybe I should just spend less

time working with ingrates.
