To use vabout barrier or not to use it????

Question To use vabout barrier or not to use it????

We bought at house that had all the baseemnet walls framed instulated and vabor barried but the ceiling was not done and now we want to move our living room downstairs but have to drywal the celing. I need to know if I put a vabour barrier on the ceiling or just insulation and drywall. Thanks Jenn

No Vapor Barrier

No vapor barrier or insulation in the ceiling of the basement.

Need to keep the noise down due to bedrooms above..

Do I use in****aion still ? Could you also explain why I wouldn't insulate the celing?

No vapour barrier is needed between two heated spaces.

The insulation would be good for sound proofing though

Donít need the vapor barrier and the insulation will be a good sound proofing but be carefull if you use recessed lighting. You will need the proper recessed lighting if the joist pockets are to be insulated. Good Luck
