Question 2x4 attic floor for storage use

Can I successfully use the existing 2x4 cieling for storage purposes with the addition of 3/4" plywood flooring over R-13 insulation?

I can not remember off hand if the joists were 16 or 24", but what about either?

Generally, truss joists made of 2x4's don't have the live load capabilities for heavy storage. Christmas stuff, yes, but heavier items over longer spans will cause it to sag. Of course a 16oc (which I doubt you have) will give better support. Can you describe the type trusses you have. They will look like a "W" or a double "W" or some other configuration.

While it is always nice to have more storage space, my big concern would be the meager insulation. R-13 is rarely ever adequate for attic/ceiling insulation.
