Removing Epoxy Floor Paint

I am refinishing a basement bathroom/shower...

There is slate gray expoxy paint on the floor and shower floor. I am using a wire brush and drill to remove it, but it is taking forever. Is there a good solvent to use? Tried paint thinner will no result.

I will be laying more mortar on top of the shower floor to properly install a membrane and I will be painting the rest of the floor a differnt color.

Thanks in advance...

Lacquer thinner or a paint stripping compound in liquid form. But please ventilate properly, as this stuff is deadly either when aspirated or if it comes in contact with flame, such as a pilot light.

I used a belt sander with 50 grit for a similar project, about a 1/2 hr for 35 sqft.

Yeah - I think I am going to try an angle grinder.
