texturing and finishing of boxed in ductwork

I just finished mudding and sanding a 16x12 room in my basement. This room has ductwork running down the center that I have boxed in with sheetrock. The approximate dimensions of the boxed in area are 5 feet across by 16 feet long by 12 inches tall. I am going to be texturing the ceiling with a knockdown texture. I will be painting the ceiling flat white with the walls beige.

I am debating what to do with the boxed in ductwork. It runs into the walls at each end, and therefore the sides of the boxed in area meet up with the walls in 4 places. I think these are my options for texturing:

1) Texture only ceiling

2) Texture ceiling and entire ductwork

3) Texture ceiling and only bottom of ductwork

Here are my options for painting:

a) Paint entire ductwork white to match ceiling

b) Paint ductwork sides beige to match wall, paint bottom of ductwork white

c) Paint entire ductwork beige to match walls

Any opinions? So far I am leaning to combination 3b

Generally it is a matter of preference. If only the ceiling [with or without soffit]is textured then all the texture should be painted with the ceiling.

Personally [sight unseen] I'd either paint it all with the wall color or all with the ceiling.
