Noisy Attic Fan

I have had an attic fan for over ten years. Recently, it has begun squeaking intermittently. I assume it is the belt on the two pulleys. Any suggestions for getting rid of this annoying sound?
Thanks,

Check the belt for wear, fraid threads sticking out. If OK, rub a bit of soap on it. If the squeak stops, replacing the belt will likely stop the problem permanently, or until the belt wears again. If the belt is not the problem, there are bearings in the motor and on the drive pulley. Some are sealed and require no maintenance. Some have an oil cap that needs periodic oiling, just a few drops of machine oil should do the trick.
