Leaky Basement Entrance

I have just purchased a home and we have found that we get water coming in from the outside basement entrance doors. It is set up with a regular door in the basement then the large metal slanted doors to actually go outside. The water is coming in from the base of the outside doors and down the steps from there. How best can I weather proof this? If anyone has any tips I would greatly appreciate it.

Not sure what kind of basement exterior access door you have or how best to help you. Pictures always help with unique situations. However, here is a how-to replace a basement door tutorial that may give you some insights into what can assist your leak problem. In the tutorial, he uses expanding foam on the inside, trims it and then covers with a caulking compound and paints to blend. Of course, the tutorial is on a old house with stone foundation. You situation may be different.
