lolly column installation

i want to install a lolly column in a particular spot in my basement to add support to a particular area. the area isnt really sagging much. how do i go about doing this?

Really should be an engineered modification. For example, you need to know the projected load so you can specify a appropriate footing.

engineer said to use a 3" lolly and a 18x18x9 footing. so now what would the proper way of doing this job be? understand i have full confidence in myself to do this job. thank you.
