how do I finish basement bath roughin hole

What do I do - if anything - to finish off the hole in the slab that the bathtub drain plumbing connects to. Presently it is a hole filled with pea gravel and the bathtub drain disappearing into it. This is a house with a basement and the tub is appx 9' below grade in the center of the house.

Thanks in advance.

Leave it alone, or fill it with sand. You may need to get to that box in the future. You do have a tub in place, right?

Yes - the tub is in, but the walls around it are not yet finished (there will be an access panel as well.) I just wasn't sure if the hole needed to be sealed in some way.
