enclosing crawl space

Hello everyone,
I need to enclose the crawl space on my old house and I don't know what I should use to do it. I was thinking of plastic lattice but I don't know what I would need to put behind that to block the air.
I would love to hear any ideas you may have.
Thank you

Depending on your climate, you do not want to block air flow in the crawl space. It needs ventilation, or moisture can be a problem.

Moisture will be a problem if you don't close it up if you are in a green grass state.

First of all why do you have the "need" to close up the crawlspace? Where do you live? Is the house crawlspace completely exposed? Are you referring to underpinning?

Sorry for not giving enough information with my question. I live in Maryland. The house was built in 1932. It has old wood around the crawl space which has to come off and be replaced with something. I just don't know what that something should be.
Thank you again.

Underpinning with concrete block is an option, and would help with keeping the interior climate more tolerable. If you could, post a couple of pictures of your situation on a site such as photobucket.com and copy/paste the HTML code in your reply post. We can give better information if we can see what you see.
