Bare Wood on Concrete?

We had a contractor frame up a portion of the basement which included a new bathroom. He used bare wood, even after I suggested pre-treated, directly on the concrete. My questions are:

How long will it take for the wood to break down and cause problems? For the record the basement is bone dry and will above the waterline. (This was the contractor defense for using bare wood)

Is there any legal actions that can be taken to get this contractor back out to do it right? The drywall and everything has already been finished.

Thanks!

Was this permitted and inspected? If not, then yer probably on the hook for it (JMO).

If its really as you describe it will probably last as long as required, code not withstanding.

Licensed contractor should have gotten permits. Building Inspector must approves plans for basement finishing.
