Question

Can you tell me, what is the correct process to paint my basement walls with a drylock waterproofing paint? The walls have already been painted with a "flat" type of paint? I purchased my home 2 years ago, I had noticed mildew in the corners and at the bottom. I removed the mildew, purchased a dehumidifier and the growth has not returned. Now, I just want to seal the walls. Please respond. Kimberly

Check the instructions on a can of the product you want to use but if memory serves, many of these products are not recommended for application over another paint. You can paint over them with your finish coat. The problem is that another paint prevents them from penetrating into the masonry and bonding properly.
