Exclamation

Hi again!

I mentioned previously that my basement has concrete walls that appear to be in good shape ( no mildew & never been painted). I know there are no problems with them but that is not my concern...

I would like to paint them a light colour to brighten the basement up. Thus, I was wondering if there was any special sealant or type of paint to be used expressly for these types of walls.

Thanks again in advance.

Yes, use concrete paint. It can be purchased at home improvement stores. It comes in a variety of colors. Several brands. Do not get the cheap stuff. It works great.

I just read your previous post. You do not have to seal your walls. Just follow the instructions on the can.

I have painted several block wall basements and commercial buildings. I recommend using blockfiller primer first. It may go under a different name where you live, but in CO KWAL Paints is the best I've found. It's fairly cheap and works great. After block filler primer, you topcoat with whatever color and sheen you want. Good Luck
