Have a post and beam ceiling insulation

Have a post and beam ceiling 4 X 4 beams on 29 " centers.Will put either 2X4 or 2 X 6 rafters on 16" centers depending on room there. Getting ready to drywall ceiling and would like to insulate it. Do I have to put in those foam air dams For condension. the only air I can get into this space is through holes in soffet.

Don I think we cover this in a differant forum earlyer.
but you need all the insolation you can get and all the ventalation you can get, gable end vent as high as you can on each end and each side. you can insolate with any insolation if you install a vapore barier before you sheetrock, install it on the face of the rafters after the insolation is installed. the moisture comes from inside the house and goes into the ceilings and walls and that is when the problems start...Keep it out by the way you build is the only solution.
