Crawl Space Safety
I must admit that I am a bit scared of working in my crawl space. I have never been bitten by so much as a spider since I moved out to the country side.
My crawl space contains rat droppings, spiders, snakes, and God knows what else. My contractor has never seemed afraid to work in there but to be honest, I am tired of the spider bites etc etc etc. I would ultimately like to get some insulation in various spots in the crawl space on my own. Any tips on safety down there. I am not looking to get bit or sick. My days of being a tough guy are over.
Thanks

A set of disposable painters' coveralls closed at the wrists and ankles will serve your purpose. Adding gloves, safety GOGGLES, possibly a painter's hood (used for spray painting) and a dust mask should take care of all your concerns.

They have those insect bombs that can de-bug an entire area and some are listed and reasonable human friendly. This would do two things, make your work more comfortable and eliminate those critters before they get into the house. Coveralls as tidoug mentioned and lots of lights.
THEN, as I stated in your other post, what you choose to do down there should be well planned. I'll add a link on crawl spaces with a photo of what you could ultimately have, and it would have no bugs or critters. It includes covering the crawl floor if it is dirt to eliminate excess moisture flowing into the house.
