Finishing basement in Ontario, Canada - types of wall coverings that are req'd?

I've got a basement in a five-year-old house that has partially-finished exterior walls -- they're spaced off the foundation by a few inches and studded, insulated (pink) and vapour-barriered (plastic). Since I'm not a drywaller, I'd like to sheet them with plywood and then put beadboard over that.
In Ontario, is that acceptable as far as building code and fire code go? And are the rules for exterior walls (well, stud walls near the foundation) any different than those for interior, uninsulated stud walls?

Any help or pointers that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

...Steve

Not familiar with code that far north, but even down here, fiberglass insulation does not work well in basements.....for long. It gets saturated with moisture. My suggestion would be XPS rigid foam insulation(2" or multiples), mounted against the foundation wall. I watch Holmes often, who is one of you, and he likes it too.

Above all else suggested here, check local codes!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree make sure you check with the local authorities. However I don't think fiberglass insulation is ever a good idea there is just too much chance in basements for mold to start up especially if you have any paper backing. I agree too foam insulation is better whether it be blown in or in long pieces you can put up. I wouldn't use plywood either for the same reason there is just too much of a chance for mold to develop, not as bad as with regular drywall but certainly a chance. Instead I would use fiberglass backed drywall you will not have to worry about mold with that.
