Finishing the basement with a concrete slab. There appears to be no (or very little) moisture. We would like to put down either a wood parquet or a vinly tile floor. Is a subfloor recommended or should I simply glue the flooring to the concrete? I've read several posts that state it is unnecessary and a waste of money. Any thoughts?

Big difference between your two alternatives. No subfloor is required for either wood or vinyl tiles. But if you go wood, you'll need to choose engineered flooring (layer of hardwood on top of plywood-like base), preferrably installed as a floating floor over a good vapor barrier. Solid hardwood is not recommended below grade (in fact, no manufacturer will honor the warranty below grade).
