I am getting ready to insulate my attic. The insulation that is currntly up there is Cellulose which has been compacted to apx 1-2" due to poor ventilation and time(21years old). The ventilation problem has been fixed. Can I add new insulation on top of the compacted or do I need to remove the old insulation?
Any info would be helpful.

Thanks
Michael

Yes, you can just put your new insulation over the old. Not a problem.
