Need another 15" clearance in basement

I am looking at putting a golf simulator into my basement, but unfortunately I need another foot to be able to swing my driver safely. My ceilings are 8 feet now and a 9 foot ceiling would be perfect.

Is there anyway to cut into the wooden Ibeams and support them a different way. I would be swinging the same direction the Ibeams run if that makes sense, so being able to cut out the bottom chunk of just 2 of them over maybe a 6 feet span would give me all the room I need. However, I am kind of doubting there is anyway to structurally support this "hole" if I go ahead and do it.

Alternative 2 is to dig down, which is likely WAY too much cost for adding a winter toy.

Alternative 3 is to just use the bonus room upstairs with 12 foot ceilings but I really don't want to set it up in there.

Thanks,

Hands down, door #3. The other two make compromises to your house and you don't even want to go there. Sometimes wants and needs settle out in the middle.

Digging down will be way cheaper then cutting the floor joists...

# 3 and then # 2, I wouldn't attempt # 1.
