Basement walls without framing
#1

Hi there!
I am interested in giving my basement a finished appearance without framing the walls (need those inches for my fantasy pool table). How would you recommend doing this? Currently, I am planning to purchase the pink polyinsulation which is adhered directly to the foundation walls. Can I nail directly into the insulation and cement (and what products should I use) or is there another way. Thanks in advance for your help!

I let the other DIY'ers perhaps more knowledgeable in what your proposing to comment on that.
My comments though are that framing aand drywall will cost you about 4 1/2 inches to 5 depending on how tight against the concrete wall you put the studs, a stud is 4" or a tad less, drywall 1/2 inch, is space that tight ? Also how about electrical plugs , light switches, telephone, cablevision ? on those walls ? I personally would prefer a framed wall but that is my opinion, lets see what others have to say.
