Crawlspace insulation question
Hi,
I live in Denver, Co, and I have a dirt crawlspace below my house. There are no moisture problems, it's very dry... I just want to warm up my floors in my house.
I want to insulate the foundation walls inside and apply a 10-20 mil moisture barrier over the dirt. I found a foam board that I really like (Silver glo), but cannot seem to be able to purchase it. It's apparently a patented product for Basement Systems?
Does anyone know if you can buy it, or can you recommend an equivalent product?
Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
I moved your question into its own thread to increase visibility.
Is the crawlspace vented to the outside or to the inside of the house?

I hesitate to use a proprietary product that doesn't have test results I can compare to standard products already well established. Dow makes a foil faced polyisocyanurate rigid foam board that may be acceptable in your local code area. All code areas can differ in what they will allow. That is where the standard testing comes in. From the web site I found I didn't see anything special about your suggested product.

After the foam board (R-10, and closing exterior vents), house air supply needs to condition the area (to warm the floors), choice is yours on the exhaust; http://www.buildingscience.com/docum...ance-and-codes

I'll add one to the list Gary provided:

I like photo 5, it is so clean it makes it easy to include it as part of the conditioned space.
