Question

I am starting to get ready to finish my basement. My problem is I do not have an enterence that will allow me to bring materials and fruniture into the basement. I have been thinking of putting in a door but will have to cut an opening in the concret foundation. Could you offer some ideas.

Thanks,

Most of the time, the answer is a window. If you don't have a large enough window, the maybe you should consider expanding one or more windows. You may need this to meet daylight and/or egress codes anyway.

Yes, you can cut a larger window in your concrete foundation.

What you probably want to install is what is called a hurricane door. Like in the Wizard of OZ. They come in kits, either electric or manual. Best to have them installed, then you are assured they will not leak. Not to big a project.
