BIN as a vapor barrier for plaster over concrete basement wall

Hi All,

I've already started to furr out existing plaster over concrete basement walls and did not install foam board insulation. That said, even though my basement is dry, I'm wondering if I should re-paint the 50's era plaster over concrete walls to ensure a vapor barrier. I've been told BIN primer is good for this. If so, will I need to top coat if the wall is sealed behind insulation and drywall anyway?

Thanks...

Not sure what you have for layers, but the question about having a vapor barrier over a below grade basement wall is "none". There is always moisture in the ground outside and without a direction to dry it will accumulate inside the concrete until it matches the soil. Allowing the wall to dry to the inside represents a very small amount of moisture but limits that accumulation.
