Spiral Staircase and Privacy

Hi. We're moving to a house with a beautiful (but small) master bedroom accessible by a cast iron spiral staircase with a round veranda at the top. Trouble is it offers no privacy or soundproofing. We thought of hanging some kind of curtain around the bannister at the top but was wondering if people had other ideas like some kind of big round shutter at the top. ??? to seal it off from the upstairs. We can't do any building work because it's a rental. Maybe a little carpentry but that's all.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

pics could be helpful - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html
Heavy drapes would likely give more sound deadening than a shutter would ... and how would you attach the shutter?

I don't think I can add photos from an iphone. And I have no idea how I would attach a shutter ...maybe at floor level? (On the upper floor). I was thinking something with a hinge or something that opens up like a big Spanish fan?

If it is in a corner maybe box it in? Accordion doors? Hard to answer with out knowing the location in the room.

You can upload pics from your IPhone.
I think a pic is necessary, as I for one, can't picture this.

Ray, I'm able to just upload pics that are on my IPhone using the "upload from computer" option.
