Pull down attic stairs don't open
Hi everyone - 1st time poster, long time lurker. You guys and gals are all great.
My attic ladder stairs will not fully open. As you can see from the attached picture the right arm is severely bent some how. It only opens half way. I've read that you can take the arm off and bend it back and reattach but I have no idea how. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I'm not very handy at all. The ladder was stamped Aug 1999 but has no other markings from manufacturer so I can't get a replacement.

I don't think that taking it off would be a prerequisite to straightening it, so I don't think I'd let that stop you.
The 2 big aluminum ladder mfg's are Werner (or Kentucky ladder) and Louisville. I would start by perusing their websites and see if any of the information they give on locating the model id helps.
Here is one link. HowToFind

Welcome to the forums.
I've seen that problem in customers houses and it seems to be a problem that no name inexpensive pull down stairs are prone to. I've been blamed for bending them and even when I've straightened them out... they bend again.
