walkout basement footing location

How would I go about finding the depth of footings in a walk out basement?

I would like to in the future excavate under the deck so I could use it for a tractor garage/shed

But I worry about frost heave

Hi alfman and welcome to the forum.

All footings should be below the frost line of your outside grade. I would expect about 4' down, but in reality I would be surprised if the footing is 2' below that basement door. The only way to know is to dig.

With as much property that you have, why wouldn't you build a garage, for your tractors & other vehicles? There is no reason to excavate. It's way more work than is needed.
