Framing basement

Whats the easier way to frame out the walls with 2x4's? Build them in place or build sections on the ground and lift up into place? My floor and ceiling joists are pretty level. Thanks.

For a remodel, I frame them in place.

I mount the pressure treated bottom plate to the floor first. Then I build a wall section flat on the floor, making it 1/8 to 1/4 short. I tilt this up onto the PT plate (giving essentially a double bottom plate) and then use shims between the top plate and floor joists above, after getting everything plumb.

If the floor or the joists are visibly wavy, I tack a 2x temporary top plate to the joists and measure from that.
