Condo / ceiling insulation.

Hello. Looking for any tips.

I need to put insulation in my ceiling which is a below a terrace. It's a condo building and there's no insulation at present. I'm guessing I'm going to have to cut holes in the ceiling and push in the insulation. I'm not going to use spray in insulation. How many holes should I cut and at which points?

Thanks!
Jam.

Welcome to the forums! If the terrace is not a part of an insulated structure, yes, you may be forced to remove the ceiling completely, lay in a product such as Roxul and re-install your ceiling. Cutting holes is not an answer. What is the ceiling made of? Sheetrock?

Hi and thanks!

Yes, the ceiling is sheetrock. If i remove the entire ceiling, what do I attach the insulation too? I should also mentioned this is to keep the heat in rather than soundproofing.

Faced insulation gets stapled to the joists, unfaced would use wire to hold it in place. That's assuming it's wood framing, if it's concrete I'm not sure there is another choice besides spray foam.
