Question

Hi everyone,

I am going to use the space in my loft but am thinking about using a spiral staircase for access from the landing in order to save space as the access will be from the landing which is about 10' square.

I would be interested to here from anybody who has installed one and any tips or problems they encountered.

Also, does anybody know anywhere that deals in second hand ones or that sells them in kit form?

I have been thinking about making one, but have no idea how to go about forming the handrail, be it wood or metal. Any ideas gratefully recieved. Or would I be better off getting in the professionals to install one.

Regards,

Harro.

Most any good big Home Improvement store will have the information available to order a kit. Each one is different depending on the heigth. Very hard to build, but in a kit form easy to install.

I love building stairs, but I would not take a spiral! I would hire it out to a company that specializes...or buy the kit.
