Drop ceiling - how to pick the right tiles

Hi all! I'm remodeling my basement and am in the process of installing a CeilingMax grid system for my ceiling - it's essentially a drop ceiling but sits up close to the joists.

I'm planning to use a standard 2x2 tile size but I'm divided between using acoustic tiles or the ones made from plastic/PVC material. Sound proofing really isn't a big deal as I live alone am not noisy So I'm leaning towards PVC tiles but I haven't been able to find a lot of info on them. Has anyone used them? Pros/cons?

A lot of folks hate dropped ceilings, but I have a small area where I could not drywall so they are usefull, and you are not using the 2x4!

I used the deep tiles that had a lot of texture, it's really what ever you like the best!Name: Capture.jpg

We did one in the plastic panels a few years ago. The one thing you need to do is be sure to use the provided clips on each panel as they are too light and just opening a door will cause them to suck up and sometimes dislodge from the grid.
